Shares Missing In Admin Page: ReadyNAS 3138

Hi, could use some help on a situation that came up a few days ago,

I logged into the Readynas admin page and am no longer seeing my shares. The shares are also not showing up on my computer. The data capacity on the drives hasnt changed.
ReadyNAS 3138, w/ 2 6TB drives, firmware 6.9.6
Many thanks in advance.

  • Can you download the log zip file from the logs page?

Are you seeing any indication the the OS partition ("root") is full?

There is a repair script that can be run from ssh, but you shouldn't just run w/o having some idea of what caused the problem.

One option is to engage paid netgear support to diagnose what happened, and then resolve it.

Yeah, i can download the zip, theres dozens of txt files in it. Will one of them show if the OS root is full?, i dont see that anywhere in the portal dashboard.

Agreed, i may have to engage netgear support to help if im unable to resolve.

Thanks for fielding a few questions. Much appreciated.

Look in btrfs.log at the top.  You should see something like this:

        Label: '7fc780f2:root' uuid: 7e15fc17-8765-457e-8a81-156ddea84fa0
Total devices 1 FS bytes used 805.62MiB
        	devid 1 size 4.00GiB used 1.64GiB path /dev/md0

If you are seeing anything close to 4GiB used, then that is likely what caused your problem, and using the script could make it worse.

If it is full, and you are comfortable with SSH, you can find guidance on finding and deleting the errant files here in the forum.  There are a few usual suspects, Plex being a prime candidate.  If you are not comfortable with SSH, then your best bet is to contact ReadyNAS support.  You should also figure out what caused that situation, or it is likely to occur again.
