My ReadyNAS DUO mk 1 with two Samsung 1TB drives is exhibiting some odd sysmptoms whilst continuing to work. I don't normally have it switched on but use it for back up of vital material - images and ...
You might remove the drives (with the unit powered down, but plugged in) - and see if the clicking stops.
