Team 2 Ports ?
Hi I've got a Readynas Ultra 6 plus, and I was wondering if its possible to team both the ethernet ports on the back of the NAS so they act as one, essentially I'm trying to improve network performance. Currently I've got the NAS plugged into my Apple Time Capsule and its working fine, however what I'm not sure about is how I actually go about teaming the two ethernet ports together.
Also if the Apple Time Capsule doesn't support Teaming, I'm thinking of buying one of these

Would this then allow me to achieve my goal, is my NAS capable of doing what I'm asking ?, any help would be appreciated.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserTeaming is positioned by Netgear as a business feature, so they only offer it on the Pro line.
- teaming really only helps under heavy simultanious use by multiple client connections, it will not improve the performance of any single connection.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThere is a community add-on for teaming: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=341282#p341282 (recommend LACP teaming with the GS108T)
However if your hardware supports it doing tweaks like enabling Jumbo Frames would be better. Does depend on whether your Mac supports it. Still might be a good idea to get the GS108T if you go down this path as I'm not sure if the TC supports Jumbo Frames. - ReadySECUREApprenticeStephenB is correct in stating that teaming is not supported on the Ultra series; due to not being part of the business line. I would tend to go with enabling Jumbo Frames, as mgdm stated. Many things will depend on hardware compatibility in this situation.
