The Solution to all of the ReadyNAS problems...
After quite literally a year of experiencing most of the forum documented issues with my Ultra, I found that over all of this time the answer to my problems had been staring me in the face.
Buy a Synology NAS
I bought myself a Synology DS412+ and all I can is WOW!
Chalk and cheese!
Everything works straight out of the box.
No issues at all.
Great performance and WebUI.
Shame on you Netgear for the way you have treated your loyal customer base.
Goodbye

- ihartleyTutorOr a QNAP (swapped a NV+ v2 for a TS-419p II). As the OP says, completely different experience - all to the positive.
And they just upgraded pretty much the whole line to the latest OS, not leaving loyal users behind. - astyler74AspirantI'm ready to join you the latest OS 6.x uses a non production ready version of btrfs (in my opinion). Stil awaiting feedback from NG on this.
i''m looking at a 4 bay qnap to replace this shower of crap that is a 2120 - A Synology DS213+ would be fine for me, will have to check out the forums for all their woes. For Ntgr to release a OS update which has the fan spinning at 1800+ constantly (6.1.1 on my RN312) and no eta on a fix is really poor form.
- astyler74AspirantRight the btrfs implementation that NG are using is the unpatched without the hard links limit fix.
Proven out by using a new chassis and factory reset same problem occurred . Why are we treated like BETA testers on supposed production ready NAS? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee Retired

You can downgrade to 6.0.8 while you wait for a fix. - MadAlexAspirantSo, if you moved to another OEM's NAS device, how did you migrate your data off your ReadyNAS?
