Ultra 6 stuck on the ReadNAS promt screen

Hi,

Yesterday, i tried to upgrade my Ultra 6 to OS 6 with firmware update in Frontview. First upgraded with PREP4TOR6_0.1-x86.bin and then with R4toR6_6.9.5.bin according to the Ultra 6 OS upgrade guide found in this thread (https://community.netgear.com/t5/Using-your-ReadyNAS-in-Business/Ultra-6-OS-Upgrade-from-4-2-30-to-OS-6/td-p/1181053).

The upgrading seemed to proceed smoothly (atleast i thought so). But during the harddrives resyncing (i have 2x1.5tb harddrives installed), when it got to around 20%, the unit suddenly turn itself off. when i tried to turn it back on again, it stuck on the ReadyNAS promt screen.

Tried to fix this with the usbrecovery tool, but it doesnt work on windows 10. I ve read that someone manage to make it works on win-xp, but unfortunatly, i dont have win-xp.

Is there any other solution to this issue? Please advice. Thanks

Do you mean all this was caused by PSU failure?

The symptom (stuck on ReadyNAS) is usually caused by a PSU failure - when the 5 volt output is ok, but the 12 volt output has failed.  Sandshark can give more info.

Power down, and remove the drives.  Then power back up. Let us know if the NAS remains on the ReadyNAS prompt screen, or if it gives you a "no disks" status.

I ve tried both restarted with and without disks, always stuck at readynas prompt. Also tried reseting, but never got pass the readynas prompt.
