I never had much luck with eSATA myself (either with ReadyNAS or with a PC). Though it's been a long time since I tried it (and I never tried an eSATA to USB-C adapter).
Although the older linux on the ReadyNAS sometimes doesn't handle USB hubs properly, you can try connecting one to the USB output on the back and see if that works.

Sorry for my very late reply, I tried a lot of trials before to send you feedback. I waited the second reply of Netgear support, but nothing total silent. Only one reply which I replied to answer their questions but now nothing from them.
Many thanks for your help. So The AV can't start due to an unknown network issue detailled in the log, all internet systems work on my network...the Transmission app on my ReadyNas is working fine without problem.
I'm very boring by the situation and the lack of reliability of Netgear. To stop my loosing time with them, I will buy a new NAS from a more reliable manufacturer. Maybe I will find a good deal with the black friday

All ReadyNAS are now end-of-life, so Netgear no longer is in the storage business.
Antivirus definitions aren't being downloaded because the version on the NAS is out-dated,and ClamAV is no longer providing the updates for the old version.
The software was built from source by Netgear, and Netgear has said they will not update it.
