Unable to play MP4 Movies on IPAD Air Using ReadyCloud for Ipad
Greetings. I am Unable to view or download MP4 Movies on My Ipad Air from My ReadyNas Server RN201. The firmware is the most recent as of a few days ago. I can see the Readynas Server on my Ipad, using ReadyCloud for the Ipad. I can selected a Movie, but it will not play. Appears that it maybe searching for a MP4 player to play them. After several minutes, the system times out and displays what appears to be an upside pyrimid with a line through it. Have been working with Apple Tech Support for two days off and on for several hours Trouble Shooting. They were able to remote in to my Ipad and check my settings and verified that there were no issues on the settings on the Ipad. They were able to see my ReadyNas on my server, and the movies that I tried to play and verified the same issue , and verified that I was infact connected to the Internet and the ReadyNas, but the Movies will not play when I attempt to View or download from The readynas. Video folder is shared on the Nas, along with all of my media, which I can see and view, except the MP4 Movies.
Thank You Kindly.

The symbol appearing on your iOS devices seems to pertain to an unplayable file or a file that is not supported.
MP4 is supported by iOS, have you verified if the file you are trying to play does not have any extensions or special conversions needed?

Back when all of my devices were Apple I encountered similar issues. I was not able to fix it. However, I found a workaround. Any MP4 files that I needed to watch from my iPad or iPhone I would convert to a suitable and supported format beforehand. I used this software https://okaapps.com/product/1536071582 since it is free and works on Mac. It is pretty handy for simple conversions like this. Since then I have transitioned to other tech manufacturers. I find it way easier to access all sorts of files with their products and their software. Hope this helps!
