Unresponsive ultra 2 plus

I tried both 1 and 2 disks in the drive, no luck, finally Netgear told me to ring support. Did a factory reset with a new drive and same problem, so they're RMAing the chassis and I get a replacement tomorrow - for the sum of A$40.
I'm in the process of pulling the data off the drive in an Ubuntu VM, but it's very slow. I'll put a couple of the WD RED WD30EFRX drives in instead and see about RMAing the Seagate drives anyway.
