Unresponsive ultra 2 plus

Unbelievable...
Two years on and exactly the same looking problem occurs...
No ping, no direct access, no RAIDar
I came back from a few days away and found it unresponsive with both disk LEDs lit. I had to power down with 5 second power button - system came back on and no disk lights lit any more and no access at all.
The warranty ran out last year.
Anyone experienced similar problems and got any process to help diagnose.
