USB Flash with OS Radiator 4.2 is dead

Hello, i have a big probleam, a few days ago my readynas 4200 torn off and doesn't start boot, the usb flash with OS Radiator is Dead, Someone can help me, how to install the Radiator in a new usb flash?

  • Is your 4200 still under hardware warranty? Actually replacing the flash is most likely going to be impossible (or very very hard).
  • Hi, thanks to answer me, but the warranty was finish. I don't know what i can do.
  • Are you actually sure that the flash card is physically dead? Or do you "just" have boot issue?
    How did you determine that? The OS runs from the HDDs, not from the flash. The flash contains the firmware for when you Factory Default the NAS and the boot menu.

      Try removing all the disks (labeling by slot) and installing a blank (unformatted) drive in slot 1.  Then power on the NAS and see if it does a factory install.

  • Yes, i'm sure that the flash is dead, the all hardware is ok, but the OS was install in the flash, now when start readynas 4200 doesn't have menu. I tryed recovery instructions for netgear support, but is impossible, because need the OS in usb flash, i don't found how to install OS in new usb flash. So i installed a alternative OS the freenas in a new usbflash, it work but i would like to use Radiator OS from netgear, and i can not found support on website from netgear
  • someone can help me? i need help, My readynas 4200 doesn't have OS, because de USB Flash is dead, i need replace the USB Flash and reinstall OS Raidiator 4.2.X
