Use just some of a 3TB drive on a Duo?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, but I just wasn't able to find this specific question anywhere...

I have a ReadyNAS Duo. I already know the Duo will not give me a full 3TB worth of space from a 3TB disk, but is there a way I can get it to at least use 2TB?

The situation:
I had two Western Digital Green 2TB drives. I had the drives in RAID 0, and one failed. I was able to RMA the drive through WD. The return drive they sent me, however, was a 3TB drive. When the drive is plugged in to the ReadyNAS, it only sees ~750GB. Am I doing something wrong? I understand it can't address the full 3TB because of sparc OS and MBR limitations, but I don't understand why I can't at least use the 2TB it is able to address.

Before anyone asks, this is not a backup system. I am aware of the nature and limitations of RAID 0.

My firmware was at version 4.1.7. I am currently upgrading to 4.1.8 in the vain hope it will help.

I don't think there's anything that you can do about this. Best to find a 2TB drive and put that in.

It won't work because of the difference in CHS does not understand the layout of 3tb when accessed by non-3tb aware bios/mbr.

So no, you will not be able to access 2tb of the 3tb drive as only the 750gb is visible to the system.

there is absolutely nothing you can do except get a 2tb drive.
