WD Green and Red
Hi all, I'm thinking of a couple of new drives for my NAS, 3TB. I know Reds are designed for NAS but my NAS would be used by a single user, as external storage. Not a massive usage. I am concerned ...

Not sure how much. These Seagate are very noisy when seeking. It's not the noise itself, it's the vibration which is transmitted to the chassis. If you place the HDD on a soft surface they're quite. If they're inside a PC, you can hear them from the other room.
