WD10EARS not working in NV+
I had a Seagate ST31000533CS start kicking out ATA Errors and I am trying to replace it with a WD10EARS-00Y5B1 which shows up on the HCL for my NV+. I am running another Seagate ST31000533CS in bay 2...

Thanks for the response PapaBear. I have seen many of your other posts and found them very useful over the years. Murphy did however strike and I did lose data... no one to blame but me. Since I had to start completely over, the new WD10EARS formatted first and the remaining three expanded normally for x-raid.
Beyond additional backup strategies which I will employ going forward, is there any way to mitigate a potential size difference as you sited above from getting people into a similar situation? For example, can one specify the x-raid to use xx megabytes less that maximum drive capacity so that even despite subtle size difference potentials, any similar sized replacement HDD used from the HCL will work?
