What is the correct way to swap 1TB drives with 2 TB drives?
Hi,
I have a ReadyNas Pro with 2 - Seagate ST31000528AS 1TB [931 GB] drives on channels 1 & 2, and 2 - Hitachi HDS722020ALA330 2 TB [1863 GB] drives on channels 3 & 4, channels 5 & 6 are empty for now. I just bought 2 - Samung 2 TB HD204UI drives to replace the 1 TB drives (I need one of the 1 TB disks to replace a dying drive in my Tivo). What is procedure to swap the 1 TB drives with the 2 TB drives?

- its always a good idea to have a good, up to date backup before doing anything.
while nas is running, carefully eject whichever 1tb drive you want to replace.
put the replacement drive in the drive carrier, carefully insert and close the locking lever.
nas will do a quick smart test, then start initializing and resyncing.
once nas is redundant, your done.
