What is the UPS model that will allow automatic shutdown on threshold for RNDX4220|ReadyNAS NVX
Model: RNDX4220|ReadyNAS NVX 4TB
According to the manual :
When an APC-brand UPS is connected, a shutdown on threshold drop-down option is available.
Does this mean I am able to use ANY model apc battery backup or does it need to be a smart ups model?
Also is there any other connections that need to be made from the NAS to the battery backup unit or is it only the NAS power cord that needs to be plugged into the APC battery backup unit to allow for shutdown on threshold option?
If it is in fact any model - which one would you recomend?
Also do you know what power measurements this device uses on regular basis so i could use the APC battery backup selector tools below to determine the APC device to purchase based on how long it will keep the NVX running?
https://www.apc.com/us/en/support/resources-tools/product-selectors.jsp
Thanks you for your time and help!

The hardware manual is here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf
On page 39 it says: NVX Pioneer and NVX (Business Edition): 76W (with 4 x 1 TB disks).
FWIW, I use a CyberPower UPS that is rated at 1350VA.

You need a model that includes a USB connector for monitoring. The Network UPS Tools folks maintain a compatibility list here: https://networkupstools.org/stable-hcl.html

For the NVX or other systems that still run older firmware, the list at the NUT site might include ones not supported by the older version of NUT that's in the firmware. There are notes about the min revision of NUT for some UPS, but I don't know which version is in the 4.2.x firmware.

4.2.31 runs version 2.0.5.
