HTTP Download

Question

Hi There,i'm new to the world of nas drives so sorry for dumb questions or answers.I have a netgear readynas duo and i'm wondering is there a way to download onto the nas directly through a website? like http downloadingI have used bit torrent but trying to find ways whether its an addon or something else where i can download directly from a website or a file address.thanks

You might want to try WGet4Web, which will do exactly what you requested.
Wget is a commandline download manager for *nix systems, that allows you to download stuff from all kinds of sources like ftp or http, this addon is a webinterface to the simple downloading functionality.

Hi Mastacheata,thanks for that, i have installed the addon but doesn't seem to work properly as most of the test downloads come up as error and i can't seem to find the wget4web share folder to see if anything was downloaded.Thanks for your help tho. appreciated it.

In that case send a message to super-poussin, maybe he can help fixing it. After all the addon seems quite old and it doesn't look like he maintained and tested it by any means on newer versions of the radiator OS.

I installed this today. After you've activated the add-on, you can create a Wget4Web share in the Shares panel of Frontview. The system will then map the share to the wget4web folder and you can mount it normally.
