just updated, now cant access transmission
I have the NV+ which was running the t15 beta which worked fine. Now updated to the release 4.1.9 and now transmission keeps saying connection refused. I have rebooted the readynas as well as the transmission addon independantly. Any ideas?

- ricostuartAspirantok now really pissed. I uninistalled/reinstalled the addon - it no longer will install. tried multiple tiems. Now the thing will do no torrenting. Refund time i think
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredDo you get an error when you try to re-install the add-on?
There is a known bug that led to some add-ons failing to remove properly meaning that when you went to re-install them the NAS thought they were already installed and thus failed to let you.
This can easily be resolved. Do you have SSH access? - ricostuartAspirantyeah, every time! Sometimes it doesnt install, but mostly it does (done a few reinstalls). I have full SSH accesss setup too.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf add-on is uninstalled check to make sure that there are no entries for Transmission in /etc/default/services
- ricostuartAspirantuninstalled and checked services. all clear. Been sent an email from netgear support saying i should put on rtorrent instead. Dont want to have to pay for something that this box should (and did) have as standard.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredUnfortunately the v1 is EOL and development is on maintaining existing features.
The Bittorrent add-on was maintained by a 3rd party developer. As there have been no updates to it in a long time NetGear had no choice but to discontinue supporting it.
As for Transmission the community developer has recently had his Sparc NAS die and had to get a replacement. He is keen to still produce updates for this add-on. - ricostuartAspirantShame, but I think it might be worth returning my unit back to netgear. If I do - what would be a suitable replacement do you think?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe ReadyNAS Ultra/Ultra Plus/Pro would be what I would go with. Do note that as the RAID format is different so you would need to backup the data off your NV+. If you wish to reuse the disks from the NV+ they would need to be wiped (delete the partitions off the disks using a PC, then put the disks in the new NAS and they will be formatted).
When did you purchase your NV+? Would you still be within the return period offered by the reseller you purchased from? - ricostuartAspirantbought it about 6-7 weeks ago!
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPerhaps try this suggestion: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=360891#p360891
