Missing MySQL extension
Hi
I have problems installing both Mysqladmin and Wordpress - they both complain about a missing MySQL extension. As far as I can see, the missing extension is installed, but something is clearly missing. Wordpress says "Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress" and MySQLAdmin says "Cannot load mysql extension. Please check your PHP configuration".
I have installed PHP 5.3.8 using the addon from http://readynasxtras.com
Any ideas?
Thanks

- JohnnyVikingAspirantI'm experiencing the same after buying the PHP addon from readynasxtras. Both Wordpress and ReadyNasXtras own PHPMYADMIN complains that it cannot find the proper mysql extension.
Looking through phpinfo() I find that the usual "mysql" is not run, instead it is mysqlnd, as for "native driver"
MySQL itself is working as I can connect to it through SSH.
PLEASE, let's find out what's causing this! - chirpaLuminaryMoving to add-on forum, not an issue with the firmware.
PHP from WhoCares includes the mysql and mysqli extensions, have you enabled those? viewtopic.php?f=48&t=52765 - JohnnyVikingAspirant

I answered in another thread here. I noticed in phpinfo() that the additional configuration directory was set, but the config files weren't loading. After enabled, disabling back and forth in the admin area for the addon PHP suddenly loaded all files and now WP and phpmyadmin seems happy. - tomwynneAspirantHi,
i am also having issues with missing mysql extensions and the "Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress" error message which appears when i try to load the page http://192.168.0.4/Website/wp-admin/install.php through my browser. I have installed the latest php version from WhoCares and have MysqlOn installed and running on my ReadyNas Duo and also PhpMyAdmin (though every time i click on Use PhpMyAdmin in frontview i get an error message saying The mysqli extension is missing. Please check your PHP configuration).
I have managed to create a database through SSH so i am assuming that it is installed correctly & has been configured.
Following all the instructions in these forums has got me this far (a am a complete novice at all of this) and i cant find out anything else which is of any use.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
T. - chirpaLuminaryTom, next time create a new thread, please do not revive an older one.
Did you enable the mysqli extension in the PHP add-on interface? - djrikkiAspirantHi,
I will also revive this thread to assist the 'googlers' amongst us rather than start a new one.
Action:
I installed both the latest PHP Add-On from ReadyNasExtras and also the PhpMyAdmin Add-On from there as well and I see receive the following errors:
PhpMyAdmin reports:The mysqli extension is missing. Please check your PHP configuration. <a href="Documentation.html#faqmysql" target="documentation"><img class="icon" src="./themes/pmahomme/img/b_help.png" width="11" height="11" alt="Documentation" title="Documentation" /></a>
A Wordpress site reports:Your PHP installation appears to be missing the MySQL extension which is required by WordPress.
Seem related to one enough, the mysqli extension/module is enabled.
Once I've resolved this I can go ahead and import the db via PhpMyAdmin. - WhoCares_MentorCan you try to re-install the PHP add-on *without* uninstalling the currently installed add-on first and see whether this solves the problem?
-Stefan - djrikkiAspirantExcellent that seemed to have worked, thank you very much. :)
#2002 Cannot log in to the MySQL server
Can't seem to log-in into PhpMyAdmin though, tried root/root, tried root + netgear password. How do I find out or reset the password? - WhoCares_Mentor
- djrikkiAspirantNow I see:
Login without a password is forbidden by configuration (see AllowNoPassword)
