NAS Error-Checking tool (chkdsk) utility?
I've been running two ReadyNAS Duo's (sparc) for a couple of years now, one at work, one at home. Both are dual drive, RAID configured. They back themselves up onto a NTFS formatted USB attached hard drive once per week. A couple of times now, the USB attached drive has had a couple of files on it get corrupted. The "solution" has been to take the USB drive off of the ReadyNAS, plug it into a Windows 7 PC, and run the Error-Checking tool (chkdsk) on the drive, then delete the file fragments it finds. That's kind of a pain.
The ReadyNAS, via FrontView, seems to not have any disk utilities on it to fix file system errors and optionally scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, which seems to me to be a huge oversight.
Are there any ReadyNAS add-ons that can do the equivalent of the Windows Error-Checking tool (chkdsk)? I'd pay for such an add-on.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserProbably any such addon would need to be based on this: http://linux.die.net/man/8/ntfsfix
I'm not sure if that is possible or not, however it would not be the equivalent of chksdk (as noted in the link).
