Ready Nas should do smthing in the Internet every 15 min...
Hi,
hope i am in the right subforum here...
Problem: My internet Provider disconnects the DSL after 20 Min IDLE now, which results that i cannot reach my NAS not any more from the outside.
Question: Is there an simple way to let the nas do something in the internet every 15 minutes? Like a Ping, or downloading an RSS Feed or something else?
I am thankful for every hint you can give...

- One solution is router/modem with "Keep connection alive" option.
Second is make a simple script to ping anything and add it to cron. - My Internet Provider disabled the keep connection alive by an forced update...
Puh, i don´t really know how to set up an cronjob on my nas... is there an manual for that? - seed a popular torrent?
- Time to change ISP? I wouldn't stay on an ISP that closes the internet connection after 15 minutes of inactivity.
- Mhm, seed a Torrent sounds interesting...
Cannot change my ISP where i live it, theres only one provider on the countriside where i live :(
