ReadyNAS Replicate or rsync remote via leafnet
Is readynas replicate just rsync under the hood? Will it every be brought into line with OS6 and readycloud? Could we have it built into the backup tab and populate remote NAS devices automatically,...

I'd say that depends on your definition of "more". It does something different. Replicate is mis-named. It does not replicate (create a duplicate of) your NAS. It is a versioned backup system. RSync, on the other hand, can create a duplicate that, if the source goes down, can easily be put in it's place and used instead. With replicate, you have to repair or replace the source device and restore the files to it, which is going to keep you down for more time, depending on how fast your procurement process is.
I have tried and failed to get an answer on how to do RSYNC over the Leaf network VLAN, which is what I want to be able to do. I think it should be possible, but I keep hitting roadblocks. Maybe no answers were received because it would undermine sales of Replicate. But with Replicate now free in OS 6 and virtually unavailable for RAIDiator, maybe more help will be forthcoming.
