- Mutley1AspirantMorning.
How do you mean "Did I try another theme for the forum?"
I don't understand the question. - super_poussinVirtuoso

Yeah I know we're not blind, but the forum's so grey. It just relieves the boredom.
Thanks for getting back to me.
How to map it using mac?
I'm new here to mac. Anyone?
I understand this one for windows "/c/media/BitTorrent". But need to know for mac as that's what I'm using these days.

you say the forum is so grey , so I answer change the theme in user control panel - board preference - baord style ! - Mutley1AspirantOh right. I didn't have a clue what you was on about.
I'll have a look. Never give it a thought.
But I still think my disco post's rule! - anon528AspirantHi Guys, Love Transmission for my NAS, the UI is nice and clean. I have a problem I hope someone here can help with.
I have a a ReadyNAS NV+
I have installed Transmission.
I can get to the UI in Firefox
I changed the 'Download To' folder to a share on my NAS - \my_files\incoming - as this is where my media player looks for new files to play
I added a URL Torrent
As soon as the file starts to download the UI shows an error - cannot find \my_files\incoming
What is the correct syntax for the download directory to type into the UI preferences or into the config file?
Thanks heaps guys! - dbott67GuideThe default is /c/media/BitTorrent. The path specified is local to the NAS:
- c is the default data volume on the ReadyNAS
- media is a shared folder
- BitTorrent is a folder in the media share
In your case, if you have a share called my_files and a subdirectory called incoming, the correct path would be:/c/my_files/incoming
- anon528Aspiranthey guy, worked it out. Transmission didn't like the underscore in my share name. When I made a new share without an underscore in it everything wored first go!
Thanks for the tip on the volume name.
Cheers - dbott67GuideGlad to hear it. Thanks for posting your solution. 8)
- Mutley1AspirantProblems again
Hello people. Here goes again. I had 1.76 working. Had to mess around with the white list with the suggestions above. In fact my posts above state that. I then thought it would be a good idea to edit the white list to alter the download location, because the settings were not being retained in the preference box in the GUI. Eventually it stopped working. Couldn't download/upload anything, error message saying path not recognized. So I backed up the Transmission folder somewhere, uninstalled and tried to reinstall Transmission. Tried 1.76 and 1.77. Neither would then work for me. It kept asking me for the Readynas login deatails , username and password. I clicked and didn't clicked, but neither would work. I then pulled up the .Json settings for the old one I'd kept and the new one in the add ons transmission folder to compare.
Now going back on this post I'd followed Super-Poussins direction and it worked. But this time it was the same as the corrections that were the offered fix. i.e. below"rpc-whitelist": "*",
"rpc-whitelist-enabled": true,
What I did notice were that this was different this time "rpc-port": 9091,
Before it had always been 8181, but now last time it had took on 9091 as quoted above. I've tried to change it in the whitelist, but no use. Basically I've deleted/removed/rebooted Transmission and the Readynas about a dozen times now and can't get nothing to work. And now I turn to the Gods of the Readynas Forum.
Need your help here again people.
mutley - Mutley1AspirantI've got a static IP address to. Does that need adding to the whitelist?
- super_poussinVirtuosodid you stop transmision before making any change in settings.json
