104 stuck on boot after firmware upgrade
I have just run the firmware update to 6.1.9 on my less than a year old Readynas 104. Everything was going as usual until the reboot phase of the update. Now the unit is stuck in booting. The display shows the message: Restarting Now. See you soon.
To make sure that it wasn't just taking an abnormally long time to boot I let it go overnight, however this morning it is still at the same point. The unit will not power down via the power button on the front and I am hesitant to unplug the power.
Can anyone help to get me back up to running?

- vandermerweMasterUnplug the power.
Reconnect and power on.
Post outcome. - jkphotoAspirantUnplugged, waited 30 sec., plugged in and restarted.
All seems to be back to normal. - jrhslickAspirantMust be a common issue. Just updated my 104 with the same result...
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredMost of the time when updates are done it doesn't hang on booting, but in some cases it does. At least there is a quick solution if it does happen.
- raymondtunstal1AspirantHave just had the same experience updating (via online interface) from 6.1.9 to 6.2.2, although the front LCD panel displays:
"Booting...
Updating FW"
Blue power light flashing (does not respond to long press).
Been going for 50min so far, will give it 2hrs then pull the cord and hold my breath... - nickorsattiAspirantI have the same issue - unplugged it but it did not come back up.
Tried to reload OS from boot menu, but still failed.
What next? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat do you see on the LCD when you try to boot it?
- nickorsattiAspirantMy LCD looks like it goes through the correct boot process:
"Booting ....."
At some later stage it then freezes and with a "Retrying Startup" message. There is likely to be other messages in between, but I haven't sit there and watched for them.
When it hangs at the retrying startup message, the hard disk(s) sit there with a lot of activity happening
Let me know if you need more info and I'll watch the complete boot process.
Thanks
Nick - nahshaAspirantAny solution to this yet? I got a new NAS, configured everything yesterday, powered on and and it got stuck on "Booting ......." for hours.
