1100 failed after 4.1.10 upgrade
My 1100 is no more..
It was ok after the 4.1.10 upgrade, but after it was powered off and back on the next day I get the
disk1 led - RAIDiator image does not match NAS platform error.
It isn't OEM - Netgear ReadyNAS RNR4450 on the label.
It won't attempt a USB recovery - never accesses the usb key.
tftp boot does succeed, but then I get d1,2 / d1-4 - Corrupted, do not mix used disks and cold boot up.
It is possible the internal usb key has become corrupt or failed - no blue led activity on boot.
There is activity on it after the rftp boot and it seems to stay on.
Should these have a fat file system ?
Mine shows up as a drive in XP, but with no file system.
I might have to try making a new one.
Is it possible to recover the USB stick and then reinsert the disks ?
Mark.

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou have removed the USB key?
The firmware image is encrypted but the NAS can decrypt it to boot etc.
You could use Rawrite or NTRawrite to write http://www.readynas.com/download/RAIDiator/RAIDiator-4.1.10 to the USB key.
If the USB key has failed you could replace it with another (would need to be at least 64MB in capacity but best to get one at least 128MB in capacity).
When did you purchase this 1100? If purchased on/after Aug 21, 2007 it would have come with a 5 year warranty. - Mark0x01AspirantIt came from a business that folded a few years ago.
Probably under five, but no proof of purchase.
Anyway, I've tried a replacement 256Mb usb key from my junk bin & it has booted and now busy with the filesystem check.
Thanks for the tips.
It saves having to salvage the data of the 4 x 1Tb disks.
I'll consider updating my NV+ as well.
I updated it to see if it would fix intermittent share dropouts I get while copying large files & during backups from both my pc's.
It didn't, so I'll keep looking for the cause.
Mark. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredFYI: You can migrate arrays between the NV+ (v1 - silver chassis) and the 1100. See http://www.readynas.com/kb/faq/boot/how_do_i_migrate_disks_over_from_an_existing_readynas_to_another
You may wish to download your logs (Status > Logs > Download all logs) and look for clues in there. Start with logs like diagnostics.log - Mark0x01Aspirant:oops: I don't believe it !!
Powered it off via power button.
At the next power today on the problem is back.
I've re-written the 4.1.10 image to the origional usb stick and it's attempting to boot.
It looks like it is trashing the usb device.
I have not had issues like this before the 4.1.10 update.
Mark.
Update:
It required an OS reinstall to get it back up, as it didn't progress past the end on the filesystem check.
