18078632 / ReadyNAS NV+ v2 USB / TFTP boot recovery
Hello all.
Keeping this post quite short.
I received my ReadyNAS NV+ v2 today and after the 5.3.3 upgrade the web interface says Device Offline and the site seems corrupt as well. I'd like to try a TFTP or a USB recovery, but pressing the power button for 5, 10, 15 or 20 seconds does not make the LEDs blink at all and the device just proceeds to Booting.
I've tried several Factory Resets and OS Reinstalls with no luck. It seems the device restores the broken 5.3.3 over and over again.
Please advice.
Best Regards,
katatonik
EDIT: replaced "purchased a" with "received my"
EDIT2: the unit is now running memory test

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredTFTP boot recovery is just for Sparc units and is unreliable.
There is no USB Boot Recovery for ARM (at least none with a link posted publicly on this site) and you almost certainly don't need it in this case.
Open a tech support (http://www.readynas.com/support) case and edit the thread title (i.e. subject of first post in this thread) to include your case number. - katatonikAspirantHi again.
Just notifying that the memory test went through OK.
Since the advice is obsolete, somebody might want to remove the USB recovery link in the NV+ v2 Wiki / FAQ:
http://www.readynas.com/kb/products/nvplus_v2 (section "How can I perform a Boot Recovery using a USB flash device?")
BR,
katatonik - katatonikAspirantFigured I'd update this thread:
In the end my box was ok. It turned out that my hard disks were giving headaches. I replaced them with 4 x WD20EARX drives. Also, for the "Device Offline" Web User Interface "loop" / condition closing the web browser usually helps. If not, try to clear your browser's cache or try a different browser even.
