2100 / 2120 performance Figures
Hi
As far as I can tell the 2100 range is now EOL although I can't find any official statement to this effect.
Is there a page for the 2120 which similar to this one which is for the 2100 - http://www.readynas.com/?page_id=2276
I'm specifically looking for performance figures, preferably by IOMETER.
Thanks

- Hi
Thank you for the quick reply, that at least explains why the several 2100's I've had on order for the last 4/5 weeks aren't appearing and why the delivery date is being pushed back each time the new delivery date arrives.
It does however leave me with a quandry/dilema, both short term and long term. We supply a hardware product, together with the 2100 and run additional software on the 2100 which works with our hardware packaged up as an add-on.
I realise that our situation is something of a unique one and Netgear can't base their general marketing strategy around the needs of the few, so I understand why Netgear will have made the changes they have , however I need to ascertain how up the swanny without a paddle we currently are in relation to our own circumstances. Especially as we have customers waiting.
So assuming that the 2120 has similar or better performance than the 2100, does OS 6 have any facility for managing third party add-ons and if so , is there an SDK available to allow that?
Thanks
Bullfrog - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredTake a look at https://developer.netgear.com
The 2120 has a Marvell® Armada™ XP (78230) 1.2GHz Dual Core CPU - Hi
Thanks - we had looked at that before (developer.network.com) , however at the time it appeared to be more geared towards people selling apps, as in the software is the product. I've attempted to look at this again, however I'm failing at step 1 - 1.Create a Smart Network developer account "here".
The link "here" is pointing at is https://developer-stage.netgear.com/user/register - which returns an error Internet Explorer cannot display the page. So I can't currently register. Has the link changed?
Rewinding to the 2100 product being EOL. Is this EOL worldwide. The UK website - http://www.netgear.co.uk/business/produ ... fault.aspx - is still giving a different list of products - 5200,4200,3200,3100,2100, 1500. There is no mention of the 2120.
the netgear.com site http://www.netgear.com/business/products/ - is giving 4200,3200, 300 series, 500 series, EDA500, 2120.
Is it a case that word hasn't got through yet to whoever maintains the UK site that the product line-up has changed?
Thanks again
Bullfrog - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredI think maybe only the US site (or maybe one or two others) has been updated so far. It shouldn't be too long before the other sites are updated.
- Hi
Thanks for your help and the directly sent info. I believe I can use the existing add-on mechanism that is built into other arm based readynas products. Netgear use it to turn on remote support. I won't know if thats an option till i get a unit. That seems to be the next hurdle. Shortage of supply of 2120's.
Thanks again
Bullfrog - chirpaLuminaryWith the 2120 being ARM based, it will likely be slower than the dual core 1.8Ghz Atom in the 2100(v2).
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredReadyNAS OS uses a new SDK.
