Access to files is very slow after Windows 10 upgrade
Hello community,
I have a Readynas Rnd4000 v3 in use. Everything works fine but since my switch from Windows XP ( please do not laugh :smileyhappy:) to Windows 10 (on a new notebook) the file s...

In other posts I have read that the reason could be an issue with the internal anti virus service of the nas. But i think that this kind of service does not exist on my old NAS
Correct. It's not internal AV, because you don't have that.
Are you using the SMB 1 client on the PC, or are you using NFS (available with Windows 10 Professional)?

Does anybody have an idea how I can solve my problem?
I'm thinking that your XP system was connected to your home network with wired ethernet.
How is the laptop connected? If you are using WiFi, can you provide some information on the router model?
Also, can you try running NAStester, and post the speeds you are getting here? http://www.808.dk/?code-csharp-nas-performance

StephenB Thank you very much for your quick reply. You are great !
You are right. The old device was connected with wired ethernet. The new device is also connected with the same method.
I am using Windows 10 Professional and I maped the share in the explorer. If I am right Windows 10 Prof. uses for that SMB V2 or V3 right?
V1 should be disabled with the default installation or? --> But I have to check that.
There's another strange thing. But I need to check this with your NAStester first. I believe that the synchronisation process is much faster if I selected the complete share. If I have only selected certain folders, the synchronization takes much longer.

Microsoft is deprecating SMB v1, and that is the only version of SMB that your NAS supports.
You should check whether the SMB v1 client is installed using "turn windows features on or off". But I suspect it is, as you'd have needed to intentionally install the NFS client there.
In any event, this is almost certainly either something in the way the Win10 machine is syncing or something in the network. NasTester speeds would help sort that out.
