Album Storage
I have a Bob Dylan Anniversary CD that I stored in NAS as FLAC. There are various artists singing in that album. The NAS is storing each artist as different albums, so there are many folders. The thing is its all actual one CD.
How to club them as one?

- vandermerweMasterThe Nas won't be doing that.
What music management system are you using?
How did you rip the disc?
Usually there are settings that allow you to set the destination folder format for a rip as say %albumartist%/%album% - vinod_davidAspirantI downloaded the album. So far I stored them in internal 1 tb HDD and play via JRiver and its coming as one album in my PC. Yesterday I transfered the same album to NAS and its stored in NAS as i said before all split.
Its the same for another cd also I ripped, all split. - vinod_davidAspirantSorry, its stored in one folder as Boy Dylan in NAS. But when i play via Jriver or WMP using NAS, thats when the split occurs.
Hope u understood. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt sounds to me like the FLAC files have embedded metadata tags that include the artist for each song. The DLNA player is organizing the music by artist, which separates the album.
One solution is to re-tag the songs, and set the artist the same in all of them (I often use "Various" for this).
There are several tools than can do this, mp3tag, winamp, and foobar2000 are among them (https://xiph.org/flac/documentation_tasks.html). After retagging, you will probably need to tell the NAS DLNA server to rescan the media files. - vandermerweMaster..... Or try to set the ALBUMARTIST tag as Various, and leave the ARTIST tag as it is.
There may be a setting somewhere in dlna or wmp that determines how compilation albums are listed. I use Logitech media server an have these settings.
Removing the artist name from the tag is not ideal. - vinod_davidAspirantChanging to :Various Artists: did the trick. This is way to go for future albums also, I think. Thank you.
