Back Up Your System Configuration
RN202 Firmware 6.5.1
Just realized I had no backup of the System Confiruration, found System->Settings->Configuration Backup.
In the Download section the default is Everything, so I just clicked the Download Configuration Archive button.
As the manual says: "The selected system configuration settings are saved to a file that is downloaded to your computer."
But where did it save the backup? My crystal ball is on vacation :smileyhappy:
The manual also says "You can also save up to 50 MB of data from your volumes,
including the contents of your files and folders." How do I enable this, and how do I select the 50Mb?
The manual is the "ReadyNAS OS 6.5 Software Manual"
Thx in advance

Hello StephenB.
Are you saying the same should occur in OS6 ? I got the impression that the backup might be saved directly to my default folder, but it was not there (not knowing the filename I looked at the latest timestamps).
It depends on the browser settings. With Chrome on my Win7 PC it downloads automatically, with the usual download indicator at the bottom of the browser window.
The filename should be _READYNAS_CONFIG-model-yearmonthday-xxxxxx.zip

Ask your browser then, and expect the usual cryptic answer. The browser stores the file on the PC, the firmware has no control over the destination folder.

It is a totally worthless feature, maybe it's actually been removed but the tool tip and manual haven't caught up.

Hello StephenB.
I just took a system backup of my old DUO, and in the process I was prompted for a filename.
Are you saying the same should occur in OS6 ? I got the impression that the backup might be saved directly to my default folder, but it was not there (not knowing the filename I looked at the latest timestamps).
Thanks for the info regarding th 50Mb (I forgot the DUO also mentioned this).
