Backing up to READYNAS using Readycloud Desktop App - Incremental?
Hi Guys,
Have been using my ReadNAS for some time and it's great, just recently tried out the desktop app to backup to ReadyCloud and finding that it's always either indexing or uploading.
Just testing it with a single folder which contains 6GB data. I would have expected an incremental backup where only modified files would be backed up however it seems to index the whole directory then upload the whole dam thing every time!
Am I missing something here?
I'm using Windows 10 Desktop App.
If the ReadyCloud desktop app can't do incremental backups, any suggestions for an alternative?
Thanks.
Sure, just used Windows File History, no good for off site howver as the NAS Device is in the same office it's fine for now.
Cheers

Hi Andrew211,
Welcome to the community!
The ReadyCLOUD desktop app (Backup PC folder) does incremental backups. I am not certain why you're experiencing problems syncing your modified or newly added files on the share created by the app. Can you confirm the Firmware and the app version you have on your PC? Also, I would like to know if you the same behavior is being experienced in other PCs on your network.
Kind regards,
BrianL

Hi,
Thanks for the info, ended up using a different solution, found it to be a bit slow with the constant indexing, etc.
Cheers

Hi Andrew211,
If you don't mind, maybe you can share which backup solution you opted to use instead of ReadyCLOUD. Also, mark this thread closed by clicking the "Accept as Solution" button in one of the responses that you received.
