Bench Testing Hard Drives Before Installation
How do users test hard drives before installation in a ReadyNAS? I test my WD RE drives by mounting the drive in a Win XP box, then NTFS format. Sometimes I use WD Diagnostics tool to read all secto...
I'm sure tools like HDTune and ATTO do this. But do people really do this nowadays??? HDDs are tested at factory, and have fantastic anti-shock tech today. I've never bothered personally.
