I receive gmail alerts from my duo v1.
The default options for the gmail email provider pulldown work (smtp.gmail.com, port 587, use TLS). Note the spelling of smtp.
I have my gmail user name (w/o the @gmail.com) set under advanced options.
If you can send gmail from your home PC then this would not be a router problem. It does require that the gateway and DNS servers be properly set on the NAS IP configuratoin. Are you using DHCP or a static address?
