Cannot Access Media folder from Windows 7 x64
Hi,
I have read most of the threads about this issue, I am on Firmware 4.2.19.
From Windows 7 I cannot access through explorer to the media folder (It works via http) but I can access the backup folder.
I get an error message from Windows saying I do not have the rights to access this folder I must contact my administrator, unfortunatly I am the administrator
The folder is in the shared list in CIFS to allow guest access.
I tried the following things with no result:
CIFS shared with the IP of my PC
Removing all user from my readynas to be sure to connect in guest mode
Creating the same user/password than on Windows 7
Any ideas are welcome on how to solve this :)

- slofloAspirantOk well i have done a lot of changes and now i can access a media folder but it does not have the same content as the one availalbe through the http. So it seems I have 2 different media folders on my NAS.
One of the problem of the share folder definition in frontview is it does not show the location/path of the shared folder which would definetly help!
What I did is I removed all CIFS... etc.. HTTP in my share listing for the media folder and added them back again in Read/Write. And in the Advanced Options activated once the "Set ownership and permission for existing files and folders in this share to the above settings. This option is useful in cases where you are changing security levels and need to workaround file access problems." in Read/Write option.
Can anyone share the options they use in CIFS etc.. HTTP including the Advanced options on their media folder in order to havec access from explorer in Windows 7? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserAt some point (around 4.2.19 upgrade) I actually deleted the media folder and recreated it with the permissions I wanted. I don't recall the details of the symptoms though.
When comparing https and cifs directories, Keep in mind that sparc-based Readynas (duo v1 and nv+ v1) only list files < 4 GB over https.
I am also wondering if you have Media and media both set up as share names???? In any event, if you believe you have a "hidden" media file in addition to the normal one, you should probably open a support ticket.
I have CIFS, NFS, FTP, HTTP/S and RSYNC enabled, and use the settings below with a Duo v1, and NV+ v1 and a Pro 6. No issues with my win7 professional 64 bit accessing the shares.
For CIFS:- "default access" is read/write"
Automatically set permissions on new files and folders "is checked
"group rights" for new file creation is read/write
"everyone rights" for new file creation is read/write
"group rights" for new folder creation is read/write
"everyone rights" for new folder creation is read/write
"Enable oplocks for this share" is checked.
For HTTP/s:- "default access" is read/write
for Advanced Options:- "share folder owner" is nobody
"share folder group" is nogroup
"share folder owner rights" is read/write
"share folder group rights" is read/write
"share folder everyone rights" is read/write
