Cannot connect to Frontview
Hi all,
The last days I cannot connect to frontview anymore. Whenever I go to http://192.168.2.147/admin (this is the correct IP address btw) I get the error "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage". After a bootup or even a soft reset this problem still exists. The NAS replies to ping, the file shares are available in Windows and I can connect to the torrent application. It seems only frontview does not work anymore.
Anyone has any idea what I should try next?
Cheers, Leo

- raymngAspirantI got the same problem, after I installed Transmission BT client, frontview is gone.
I want to do factory reset, can it fix this problem? Anyone tried yet?
Advice: If you want BT by NAS, better buy Synology's NAS, they provide much better BT client and more stable performance. - steveoelliottLuminaryAnyone found a solution to this yet? I have the same problem under viewtopic.php?f=7&t=55601&p=315563#p315563
- steveoelliottLuminaryI've raised a case for this too
- groundrushAspirantI had this problem last week, logged with support 5-8-2011 Case #16333985
Still waiting to gain access to Frontview.
This happend when I installed the BZeeet app (Web-based search engine for your ReadyNAS files)
The system froze & after rebooting the NAS I was unable to access Frontview.
There appears to be bugs in the software - steveoelliottLuminaryThat makes 2 of us now then. Mine is: 16338672.
Obviously several people are affected by this. What is so, so frustrating is the first level guys that picked mine up seemed to stall for so long before escalating despite several requests on my part.
After rebooting does your frontview come back up? I have the SSH addin installed so at least I can restart mine when it goes down. - steveoelliottLuminaryAny updates on this from anyone else???
The support team even after been escalated to 3rd level have not been able to identify the root cause of this issue. - lpullmanAspirantHi,
I have the same problem here:
Unit running without a problem for two (maybe three?) years - check
File access is working from both PCs and Macs - check
I can view the Torrent client control panel - check
I cannot telnet in on port 80 - check
I am getting status emails for SMART errors and a backup failure
But no Frontview.
My problem is slightly complicated because this is a client's unit and I have limited physical access to the device. I need to resolve this reasonably quickly in order to fix the backup error. We have a number of customers using ReadyNASs from Duos to 6000 series and I'm getting rather nervous about the prospect of them becoming unmanageable without warning, apparent reason or a viable quick fix. I'll be trying to log in to as many as possible in the next few days to check them and install the SSH daemon as an emergency back door.
A better fix than waiting for a tech to log in remotely (this is not an option for several sites) would be appreciated,
Laurie Pullman
Iguana IT - steveoelliottLuminaryI would suggest you raise a support case. Ask it to be escalated and reference this forum post, my case 16338672 and another user on here 16333985.
I have not got any explanation from 3rd level other than re-install FW. I am not prepared to do that as it is ultimately not a solution and I have already done this on this unit. - lpullmanAspirantThanks, I've already raised a support case and started the long, and expect painful, exchange.
- steveoelliottLuminaryCan you share the number on here too. That will then be 3 of us with this issue!
