Can't access phpmyadmin

Hi,
Hope this is the right place.

I've installed MysqlOn, PHP5 & PHPMyAdmin

Clicking on Launch PHPMyAdmin takes me to the log in page, but I keep getting #1045 Cannot log in to MySQL server.
I am logging in with Admin & *my nas password*

Can anyone help please?

  • I think i had the same issue. If i remember correctly default login for mysql server, user root was empty and empty password was not accepted by phpmyadmin.

To test this you might try to login locally on the readynas (this is for root, try your user as well)

    mysql -u root -p

If that works, user and password you are using are correct. If it doesn't work try an empty password instead. I guess it works locally with user root and empty password, but still that doesn't work through phpmyadmin. You can either change settings on phpmyadmin (did not work for me) or change the password for your user locally.

    Max
  • EDIT: Just got in by using 'Root' and blank password.

    -------------------------------------------------------------------
Logged in as root, but for some reason it wouldn't accept my current password. It would only accept my old password.
No idea what's gone on there.

I tried the code you mentioned and I'm getting ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password: YES)
I tried new and old password.

Tried blank password, old password & new password on mysql log in and still can't get in

This is the first time I've really used root access by the way as I am new to the unit.
  • changed the password and can't log in again now. really frustrating.

I've done a complete factory reset of the unit. reinstalled phpmyadmin, changed the password and again it's not letting me in!
  • Sorry for not replying sooner. I've not been online.
Anyway, I did actually start everything from factory reset and although I encountered the same problem, I did eventually get in and change the password and finally got it working.
Only thing is, I'm not really sure what I did!
