Case: 17190439 - Lost disk on uppgrade to 4.18 [CLOSED]
Readynas NV+ (V2) with 3 1TB disk was working with no problems.
Uppgraded to 4.18 and all went ok, unti asked for reboot and then:
After reboot disk 1 started to blink on green LED and ended after many hours with display "C: OBytes/0 Bytes free"
Reboot with disk 1 removed, after boot I have no volumes and LED one blinking (2 and 3 constant green).
Inserted disk one and display said "Disc 1 sync.." after some minutes "Disk 1 failure"
Got a new WD WD10EARX, inserted in slot one and same result: display said "Disc 1 sync.." after some minutes "Disk 1 failure"
Any suggestion for next step, without loosing data..... backup is not complete :(

- PapaBear1ApprenticeAre you dead certain that you have an NV+ v2? It has been out less than a week. It also does not run RAIDiator 4.1.x at all.
Contact Tech Support and open an online case. The unit should have booted with a single disk failure, it sounds as if you may have more than one disk problem.
You can also connect each disk to a PC via an SATA port on the MB and run the vendor tools. Connecting via USB or eSATA enclosure will not work. - cul8AspirantSorry, my mistake! It is not a V2, its a plain NV+

- cul8Aspirantdone!
Downgraded to last version, 4.1.6. Boot up without disc 1, still no volumes + fault on disk 1, inserted disc 1 and now raidar reports blinking gren LED instead previously been yellow.
It is like this for 1 hour, lets see whats happens .......
/C - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThe disk failure and firmware update are likely coincidental. 4.1.6 and earlier have some compatibility issues with WD Green disks. Also the WD10EARX is not on the compatibility list and may have compatibility issues.
Have you contacted NetGear tech support for assistance? Trying to fix the problem yourself is likely to only make it worse and reduce chances of data recovery. - cul8AspirantCase: 17190439
Disc sync ended upp again in Disc 1 failure.....
I know now that WD10earx is not comp. I read on the wrong compatibility list. Any way initial disc 1 is ST31000340AS and been working for a while, have tested it and reports no fault.
I have opened a support case - PapaBear1ApprenticeTo properly test the ST31000340AS, it would need to be connected to an SATA port on the motherboard of your PC (impossible on a laptop) and then run SeaTools (for Windows or for DOS). If you have a desktop, but no spare SATA cable, open the side of the case and borrow temporarily the power and SATA cable from the DVD drive (with the PC off, after the disk is connected, then boot the PC).

That's what I have done.... - PapaBear1ApprenticeOk, some members try to use a USB connection and generic testing. You did not specifiy SeaTools, so I did not know.
Hopefully, Tech Support will get with you shortly and solve the situation. - cul8AspirantOki, thanks for support PapaBear.
