I am having an issue with my ReadyNAS Ultra 2 and WDTV Live, all with latest Firmware etc etc: After pretty much 30mins (i have timed it) the WDTV will stop seeing the ReadyNAS and I will have to go to setup and refind the DNLA media server running on the ReadyNAS. I have tested this using a simple windows share on my Laptop and the WDTV live has no problems streaming and doesn't drop out, so it must be a setting on the ReadyNAS . . . . Any Clues? :(
I also run Plex aswell as Netgears DNLA on the NAS and experience exactly the same issue

- vandermerweMasterI don't understand what you mean by a windows share with the name workgroup.
The name workgroup would be given to a group of devices on your network?
A share would be a folder/ share on one of these devices.
What exactly did you change? You could have changed the workgroup of the readynas to match thàt of the rest of your network machines, as I suggested earlier.
If its working I suppose it doesn't matter but it would be nice to understand what you've actually done. - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI think the WDTV was scanning WORKGROUP for shares, but now is looking directly for shares on the NAS. If so, adding the NAS to WORKGROUP would also have fixed the problem.
In any event, it would be better if the NAS was put in the same workgroup as the PCs. - gezzyboyAspirant

Cheers vandermerwe, having looked at my settings in frontview the Hostname & Workgroup was already set to the name of the NAS drive (i didn't do that)
so when I got the WDTV to look directly at the NAS it all suddenly came to life. I get uniterrupted viewing of all my media and now all the metadata that
had never appeared using the onboard readydnla is there with artwork etc.I still have ReadyDNLA & Plex running on my mobile devices in and they seem
to be fine now, thank god for that!!!! I won't hold my breath though, will keep you posted thatnks for all your suggestions and help. - gezzyboyAspirant
