I am having an issue with my ReadyNAS Ultra 2 and WDTV Live, all with latest Firmware etc etc: After pretty much 30mins (i have timed it) the WDTV will stop seeing the ReadyNAS and I will have to go to setup and refind the DNLA media server running on the ReadyNAS. I have tested this using a simple windows share on my Laptop and the WDTV live has no problems streaming and doesn't drop out, so it must be a setting on the ReadyNAS . . . . Any Clues? :(
I also run Plex aswell as Netgears DNLA on the NAS and experience exactly the same issue

- vandermerweMasterHave you got disk spin down enabled?
- gezzyboyAspirantmmm I wasn't aware that was a function, many thanks I will have a look, sounds pretty likely, any ideas where i look?
- gezzyboyAspirantBrilliant! found it! I reckon you nailed it fella, totally fits the error, will let you know!
- vandermerweMasterThe disks shouldn't spin down during streaming though so IF this solves your problem I would let Netgear know through an online support request.
- gezzyboyAspirantYes it's the consistent reguarity of the fault that leads me to think that the disks are spinning down durng streaming; maybe there is a buffering resource issue somewhere along the line that is preventing the NAS from requiring activity. I'm gonna test it this morning.
- gezzyboyAspirantDamn, its not that either. Still says "content source removed" after 30 mins, back to the drawing board. Could it be something to do with DHCP IP addresses? Although it says it's still on the network just not seeing the DNLA Media Server? ;-(
- vandermerweMasterUnlikely to be dhcp related. Does the readynas Ip address change? You could try to set a reserved address in your router/AP or use a fixed up address for the readynas.
Is the wdtv connected via wifi or ethernet?
Are you using the latest firmware and readydlna versions?
Are you only using one of the readynas ethernet ports to connect to your network?
What router are you using? There are some reports of people solving this problem by using a different router? - vandermerweMasterDoes anyone know if this could be related to SSDP announcement intervals on the readynas DLNA server, and are these adjustable?
- gezzyboyAspirantThanks Vandermerwe for chasing this! The WDTV is connected via WIFI (and this connection does not seem to be an issue)
I have fixed the WDTV & NAS on static IP addresses, so i don't think that is an issue.I'm using the latest firmware for ReadyNAS & the WDTV,however I see that the version of DNLA I have is still v1.1.0 is there a later version? - gezzyboyAspirantmmm I found this http://wiki.tcl.tk/36474 on that SSDP issue
