Continual drive failures in ReadyNAS Pro

I also had an abnormal number of SMART bad sectors with Seagate drives. When I checked the drives with the Seagate diagnostics utiliy, they usually passed as OK. I was quite confused and swearing at Seagate...
However, I noticed that it was always the drives on one side of the NAS that failed.... the side nearest my UPS. I moved the UPS a few feet away from the NAS, and behold the drives stopped failing.
I HAVE had a few real drive failures with Seagate drives, so you can't rule out that your drives are really broken.
