Default to RAID 5 after factory reset?

Xraid is the one to use, effectively it is raid 5 wth your setup.
5.45tb is your volume size and that is correct. 3tb disks are about 2.7tb, manufacturers use a different unit of measurement.
Are you sure you did a factory default?
Are any shares listed?
Have you rebooted the Nas since the factory default?
What you may need to do is delete the current volume and recreate it if rebooting doesn't work. If that fails, contact support.
