default username/password on new units
Just wondering, how to do change the password to the "admin" user account on a new v6.0 unit? I have my new account configured (with admin access assigned) but I am still able to login using username "admin" and password "password". I am not able to find where you either change the password or disable the ability to use that account.
Thanks guys!

- FenterSpoonerAspirantNevermind. It was hiding in the top right hand corner (profile) where you can select your region (languages). there is a selection for settings which allows for changing the password. Kind of dumb space to put it since there is a whole section dedicated to user and account management.
It's not exactly intuitive. It should prompt you to change the password when first setting up the unit. - chirpaLuminaryDesigned by engineers, for end users... Yes, there is lacking UI/UX implementation.
It was in the User Management section in all versions of FrontView. For Dashboard, they did things with a twist.
I suggest posting in the Feedback sub-forum, and hopefully someone will see it and one day take the initiative to do something about it. - LeiaNETGEAR Employee RetiredHi~
If you're already loged in the admin page, you can click "Profile" in the top right of the menu bar, and click "Settings" button. This design is from RAIDiator 5.
And you're right, it should prompt you to change the password when first setting up the unit. So if you launch the admin page first time just after factory default, it will be addressed to a local setup wizard.(https://your_nas_ip/wizard.html) You can set time/date/admin alert contact/host name/admin password before you start to use the nas.
