Check the HCL again using the Duo (w/o the v1), since the v1 and v2 lists are quite different.
I suggest that you search the forum for the drive model you want to use - if you see a lot of bad press, then it is a drive best avoided, even if it is on the HCL. Many of the newer Seagate drives don't seem to work out so well.
If your Seagate is a ST31500341AS, then it is likely ok. I had several in my Pro-6 for a while (though that is x86, not v1), and still have one there. If you are buying new drives at some point, check out the WDC Red series.
