domain user access
Domain users used to see a folder with their name when they would select the readynas box from the network. They could read/write to this folder with no username/password prompt. Now each user still sees their own folder but are now presented with a username/password prompt and it doesn't matter what is entered it always fails. Domain admins, local admins, the users pc (domain) login, nothing works. I cant specifically set permissions on these folders because I never created them. They've just always been there and each user only sees their own. They do not show in the share listings dialog in frontview.
I assume it has to be some sort of overall system access setting but all I see are settings for folders I have manually created.
Bonus question: How can I as the domain admin monitor all these folders. For example, to check how much data users are storing in them.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserIt might be helpful is you indicate what specific ReadyNAS product you are talking about, and what firmware it is running. Maybe also put the ReadyNAS into your profile or signature.
- Rburn99AspirantThe unit is a Readynas Pro 6. I cannot find any version info for the unit. I would think system would show it, or at least status but I don't seem to see it. RAIDiator 4.2.15 is in the bottom of the window. That seems like that would be the gui I'm looking at though rather than the unit?
- StephenBGuru - Experienced User4.2.15 is probably what you are running then. You can also find this out through RAIDar (PC app) or from the Frontview admin login.
I don't have expertise in domain stuff, hopefully this will help someone who does when they respond. - Rburn99AspirantResolved. In case anyone else comes across this thread looking for a solution to a similar problem, here is how I fixed my issue of users no longer being able to access their home shares. In FrontView, Security / Security Mode... I changed the setting from Domain to User and then back to Domain again. I hit apply to 'refresh' the domain setting. Got a message saying 'unsuccessful joining domain'. Entered domain administrator password and clicked apply. Got a message saying 'successfully joined domain'. All user shares now accessible again so I'm guessing it just needed to have the setting refreshed.
