Well when you select factory default, there is a message that says "Factory mode wipes out all data...." This, plus the need to type the word "FACTORY" ensures that it has to be a deliberate action on the part of the user.
You could contact Netgear support and ask them about data recovery services. It costs money and there will be no guarantee of success.
In essence I think you have lost all your data.
Backups are strongly recommended.

Regrettably you confused "factory reset" with "OS reinstall".
