I believe its X-RAID. Its like an expandable RAID-5. I checked on my other Readynas systems and they all show up as X-RAID.
"Configuration: X-RAID (Expandable RAID), 4 disks" and all my readynas raid system are setup in the same way except for different version of the firmware.
Its still too early to tell for sure but judging from the "short drive test", Drive #1 seems to have quickly failed both the short drive test and long drive test. Whereas all the other drives have at least passed the short drive test.
Drive#2 passed the short drive test and currently running the long drive test.
Drive #3 passed the short drive test and long drive test
Drive #4 passed the short drive test and long drive test
I maybe in 5 hours I will know if drive #2 has passed the long drive test and if it does it would mean that only drive #1 is bad which is the only WD "green" drive I have.
I have not had good luck with green drives in the past so I am kind of inclined to believe that its the offending drive.
If that is the only bad drive, what would be the recommended next step?
Thanks.
