Firmware Upgrade advice please? for legacy (x86) NAS
Hi all,
I kind of slacked on firmware upgrades. My last firmware upgrade on my Pro Pioneer (x86) was to 4.2.27.
So my questions: What is the last most reliable firmware?
and: What's the best way to upgrade to the last most reliable firmware? (ie. step by step to the latest, or just grab the latest and go)
The last one that comes up searching Netgear is 4.2.30, but I've seen references to others in the forum (at least .31). Pressing the Update button inside Raidiator gets me nothing, sadly :(
I'm okay with not having the bells and whistles of the new ones (for now), unless all that experimental firmware is rock solid.
I also just learned that my machine is EOL. I guess I need to start looking for a new NAS?
Thanks all for your help in advance!
Cecilia

Legacy (x86) NAS are EOL, if there is not critical issue, Netgear won't release new FW.

Now that I've gotten this far...thinking about the OS6 upgrade.
Nervous, though...I hate when things are working fine, and then I break them via an "Upgrade"...lol
