FTP Connecion and Problem "Acces denied"

Hello Friends,

NAS duo v2 5.3.11

the ftp Service ist running on NAS, Authentication Mode ist "user"

My router hat Static external IP, I set forwarding port 21 to NAS IP adres (it works !!!).

I set new user and let (to one share) permision read/write to this user.

As FTP Client I use total commander. By connecion it shows redirecting to NAS IP adress = correct, but after this "Acces Data incorrect". I try many times, i'm sure NO mistake by login or password.

The same ftp client connect's without problem with other services like my webpage provider.

Can you help me ?

thank Ypu very much. Kamil

    Some things to check
    (a) The FTP server should be set to passive mode, and you should adjust the port range to just a few ports (4-10). Ports over 50000 are good choices, as they are unassigned.
    (b) The passive ports you choose also need to be forwarded to the NAS

    (c) some clients will require masquerading to be set on the server to the external IP address of the router. Some don't need this (FileZilla doesn't). I don't know about total commander.

Unfortunately the v2 software manual doesn't include a screen shot of the FTP settings, and I don't own a v2.

What happens if you try connecting to the NAS on your local LAN (masquerading off).
