Help Connecting
So I got my first Mac today (Retina MBP), and I'm trying to connect to my ReadyNAS, where all my media, docs, etc. are stored.
I enabled the NAS for Time Machine, and I got it to backup without a problem.
But when I go into Finder, under shared on the left, I see my NAS listed, but when I click on it, it is unable to connect. When I try clicking the button for Connection Settings, nothing pops up.
I'm able to connect if I do a smb://NAS/<share> but I still can't just click on my NAS in finder and see all my shares.
Any idea what I need to do?

CIFS (aka SMB) works with both Mac and Windows so many like to use this in mixed environments.
AFP (Apple Filing Protocol) works better for some things with Macs and is used by Time Machine (hence why it's enabled when TM is).browerjs wrote:
And a little off topic, but since you've been so helpful, is there a way to not show other Shared items in finder (ie. my printer that shows up)
I don't know if there is a Finder Setting or a Terminal hack or some other way of achieving this. Maybe someone else will have some ideas on this.
