How to add UPS using snmp to shutdown NAS

Hi all, I recently got a good deal on a refurbished APC SMT1500 and I also bought the Network card (AP9631) sor vey cheap, My mainly use here is to only use an ethernet cable on the UPS and to shutdown the PC and the NAS when the battery is low on the UPS. Before I had a SMT1500 and was connecting the UPS directly to the NAS on USB and on the PC I was using Winnut as slave to shutdown the PC.

Now I only want to use the ethernet cable on the UPS and use it as a master. (on all the time)

Configuration

On the PC I install APC Network Shutdown v5.xx and I also set on the APC network card the ip adress of my PC and the NAS

On the netgear NAS I add the UPS using snmp v1 and I was successfully connect online with the UPS.

But when I try to test a shutdown from the UPS my PC will shutdown but not the NAS.

What I am missing here ?

Thank You

It would be helpful to know the OS version you are running.

I use a Eaton 1500P with network card and it works fine with 6.10.9, so I can say that basic SMTP monitoring and shut-down of an UPS does work.  But since mine is a different brand, I can't say if there is a problem with the APC specifically.

OS is version 6.10.10 on the NAS, For the APC side I have update all firmware on the UPS and the NMC card.

Maybe I need to go on battery and see if it will shutdown properly. I only tried the Control shutdown of the outlet with a wait time to shutdown. The PC shutdown gracefully but the NAS did nothing.

A good way to test that is to connect the NAS to a wall outlet instead of the UPS and have another load on the UPS.  Then unplug the UPS and see if the NAS shuts down at the appropriate time.  That way, should it not shut down, you don't have an improper power interruption to the NAS.
