How to configure RAID on readynas 2100
Hi, I just boought this ReadyNAS and cannot see how to configure the RAID level. I have 4 bays with 2 x 2gb and 2 x 1gb drives. Ideally I would like 2 x mirrored pairs. After resetting to factory defaults I get a RAID 5 setup but cannot see any way to change this. If I delete the volume that it creates it then won't let me create a new volume and I have to reset again.
I must be missing something.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks
Matt

You need to get into flexraid mode - see page 48 here: http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Business_SW_05Nov13.pdf
To do this you'll need to install the older version of RAIDar (4.3.8). Version 6.3 won't do it. https://kb.netgear.com/20684/ReadyNAS-Downloads.
You can start with just the 2x2TB drives installed if you want - and then hot-insert the 1 TB drives and create the second volume after the initial setup.
- Lando365AspirantHi thanks for the quick response. I am using Firmware version RAIDiator 4.2.31
Is this the same as per your instructions?

Yes. They didn't update the manual after 4.2.17 (the releases after that were mostly bug fixes and security patches).
The manuals (and some other stuff) are here: https://www.netgear.com/support/product/rnrx4000_(readynas_2100).aspx
